Project Management Training at the University of Missouri


The University of Missouri Division of Information Technology is hosting three project management courses this fall on the MU campus. All three courses will be taught by The Mathis Group (a PMI® Global Registered Education Provider). Please note that the costs listed below are estimates and will go down if the courses fill up, as we pay The Mathis Group by event, not by participant. Savings will be passed on to you; final cost will be communicated before the course start date. Enrollments can be done by credit card or invoice.

Mastering Project Management (3-day)
Dates: September 16, 17 and 18
Price: ~$520

This intensive three-day class provides an overview of the project management process. It includes applicable hands-on activities and team exercises that will reinforce project management core competencies. Participants will learn tools and techniques that will help them run their projects faster and more effectively. This course will follow the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of PMI's PMBOK® Guide. The course is worth 19.5 PDUs (the instructor is a PMI® Global Registered Education Provider). Dates are September 16, 17 and 18. Estimated cost is $520. Location: E304B Locust Street Building on the MU campus. Deadline for enrollment is September 2.


Project Management 90-Hour Intensive
Dates: Oct 1-3, 14-16, 28-30 and Nov 10-13
Price: ~$1927

This class is a comprehensive introduction to project management concepts, theories and foundational processes. This course is specifically designed to align with the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of PMI's PMBOK® Guide. The course is worth 90 PDUs (the instructor is a PMI® Global Registered Education Provider). An exam is given the last day of class; successful completion results in achieving the Missouri Project Manager certificate. Dates are Oct 1-3, 14-16, 28-30 and Nov 10-13. Estimated cost is $1927. Location: MU campus, building and room TBA. Deadline for enrollment is September 17.


Project Management: Creating a Successful Project Business Case (2-day)
Dates: October 9-10

This two-day course will focus on the business case; learn what it is, what it includes, why it is necessary for successful project management and how to develop one for every project. Learn how to conduct a business case review to ensure your project's success. This course will follow the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of PMI's PMBOK® Guide. The course is worth 13 PDUs (the instructor is a PMI® Global Registered Education Provider). Dates are October 9-10. Estimated cost is $381. Location: MU campus, building and room TBA.
