About the Program:The goal of this interactive presentation is to demonstrate the new features of Microsoft Project 2002 and share how this tool has made the jump to be an effective enterprise wide project management tool. The primary presentation will focus on the new client side features, i.e. such as new fields and enhanced custom formulas and Smart tags, etc. We will briefly touch on the collaborative aspects of MS Project Server 2002 and share with you a day-in the-life of four key roles in enterprise project management: Executive, Project Manager, Resource Manager and Resource.Speaker BiographiesJohn C. Webster, PMPJohn’s roots are in the manufacturing industry. He spent over 11 years with McDonnell Douglas, with six of those years being in various managerial roles within the procurement department, where he was responsible for several missile and satellite programs. He also spent 5 years in the International Contracts organization managing aspects of the Offset obligations to foreign customers. John oversees the Management Consulting Practice within Oakwood and is responsible for all client delivery of these services. During his time at Oakwood he participated in Microsoft's Beta project of the Project Server 2002 release and lead a team that presented an entry in Microsoft's Business Value Challenge (BVC). Oakwood was the only company in the St. Louis area that participated in the Beta program. He has an MBA from St. Louis University and has been certified as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) for the Project Management Institute since 1997." Sandy Messall Throughout her career in the I.T. Industry, Sandy has performed many different functions in the IT arena, including Business Analyst, Quality Assurance Manager, and Project Management Office Manager. Prior to her career at Oakwood she was responsible for the software selection study at Shepard Company to replace their core back office applications, which included Order Entry, A/P, A/R, General Ledger, Sales & Marketing, shipping, manufacturing, and inventory. While at Compaq Computer Corporation, Sandy was a Program Manager for several multi-international development applications. Since joining Oakwood, she has led a team in the implementation of a payment reconciliation application, which interfaced with A/P, General Ledger, and a warehouse management system. Sandy is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and National Association for Female Executives (NAFE)." |
