You will receive an e-mail confirmation of registration and will be asked for full payment at the desk.

Cancel:

If you register but can't attend the event, you may cancel before the registration deadline. You will receive a refund by check after the event. The amount of the refund will be less a 10% processing fee. To request a refund, please notify pmivppd@pmimidmo.org
You may not cancel your registration after the registration deadline, but we encourage you to send someone in your place.

About the Workshop:
Creating an Ethical Culture through Effective Communication
Ethical dilemmas often arise without warning. In this presentation, we will explore common ethical issues and discuss how the communication climate contributes to the ethical culture. These discussions will help you be prepared to deal with common, recurring ethical concerns.
Tips and techniques to create an open communication environment will also be covered. You will leave with the information necessary to provide the framework for a more ethical workplace at your business.
Speaker Biography:
Rita Ruth Starnes, B.S., J.D
Comprehensive Communication, CEO
Rita Ruth Starnes is the owner and founder of Comprehensive Communication, a coaching and consulting business in the area of communication. She is also licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri. As a practicing attorney, she saw the disastrous effects of poor communication and realized that most problems were the result of inadequate communication skills. Ms. Starnes strongly believes that the ability to communicate effectively is crucial to your personal and professional success and is committed to helping others avoid communication errors.
She received her B.S. in Education with a Speech and Drama Certification from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her varied background has exposed her to numerous ethical situations. Ms. Starnes has been in private practice and corporate where she was Assistant General Counsel for Edward Jones Co. She has taught ethical business practices in courses on the college level and has served on the Ethics Committee for the 20th judicial circuit. She has served on several not-for-profit boards and has volunteered countless hours to community projects.
She and her husband Craig have been married for 26 years and have two sons, both students at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Her sense of humor and real life situations makes her an entertaining and insightful speaker. She gives practical and easy to incorporate advice. Professional organizations and groups, as well as individuals, have benefited from Rita’s presentations.
